Setting up Inductions

Summary
  • Does your organisation run an Induction programme for new employees?
  • How often is an Induction programme run and by whom?
  • What does the Induction programme cover in terms of specific subject areas, points of interest, contract provisions, organisation overview?
  • Do specific topics come under broad generic headings (Health and Safety, covering accident reporting, hazard identification, evacuations)?
  • Are the different areas/topics assigned to various individuals/positions to conduct that part of the Induction process?
  • Are completion dates specified for each of these topic areas?
  • Does your organisation need to monitor the induction process for each employee (check to ensure that each topic area has been completed, and when)?
  • Should an Induction plan be created automatically as a result of a Recruitment process (when an applicant has been appointed, should the system automatically recommend/generate proposed Induction Plan)?
  • Are Induction programmes deemed to be part of the Training process?
  • If so, should the programme be defined as a number of training courses?
