Allowances - T&A/RS (i)

The results of settings on this tab page are only seen in Daily View. Generally your PayGlobal Consultant will set up separate allowances for:

Example:

You may have a number of awards where ordinary time is treated differently for overtime purposes. For example, an employee is entitled to overtime at the completion of 40 hours in one week and in another award, an employee is entitled to overtime at the completion of eight hours in one day.

This means that different rules need to be built into the T&A allowance. This requires multiple ordinary time allowances and these T&A allowances can then all be sent to one ordinary time Payroll allowance. In Payroll, it is easier to be dealing with one of each type of allowance.

The information on the Details tab of an award rule will override the settings on this tab page.

Field

Description

Rate calculation

Default
Uses settings defined by allowances transaction hierarchy.
Fixed
Uses the value in the Unit rate field of the Details (i) tab page of the allowance.
Calculated
Gives access to an adjacent calculation field. Your PayGlobal Consultant will set this up.
None
Rate does not apply at all to the T&A transaction. This is often the case when Payroll generates the rate.

Factor calculation

Default
Uses settings defined by allowances transaction hierarchy.
Calculated
Gives access to an adjacent calculation field. Your PayGlobal Consultant will set this up.
None
Factor is applied at a rate of '1'.

Cost Centre calculation

Default
Uses settings defined by allowances transaction hierarchy.
Fixed
Uses the value in the Cost centre field on the Details (i) tab page of the allowance.
Calculated
Company Settings specifies cost centre logic. A wildcard defined in company settings will generate a cost centre on processing depending on other elements in the timeband. Your PayGlobal Consultant will set this up.
None
Factor is applied at a rate of '1'.

Note: If an award rule cost centre calculation method is set to “Previous Payment” and an associated allowance cost centre calculation is set to 'Calculated', PayGlobal ignores the calculated setting.
