Customise Column Extensions

You need to customise the ClockIn column so that information for employees who do not use clocks is displayed as light blue on white.

You need to do the following:

First you will customise the ClockIn column so that information for employees who do not use clocks is displayed as light blue on white.

  1. Click a cell in the ClockIn column.
  2. Click Customise Column Extensions or press Alt+F10.

    The Customise Column Extensions | Details tab appears.

  3. In the combo box for Customise colours, click Yes.

    Note: Alternatively, type y to select Yes.

    First you will select new colours for the ClockIn column.

  4. Left-click light blue to set the foreground.
  5. Right-click white to set the background.

    Now you will customise the colours for employees who use clocks — black on white. First you will set up the colours for clock employees, and then you will set up the Quick Results tab to test for them.

  6. Click the Results tab.

    The Results | Details sub-tab appears.

  7. In the combo box for Customise colours if results, click Yes.
  8. Right-click white in the palette to set the background (BG).

    The foreground (FG) remains on black.

    Now you will create a Quick Results clause that will test for employees who use clocks.

  9. Click the Quick Results sub-tab.
  10. Click No Restrictions.
  11. Press Enter.

    The Fields list appears.

  12. Scroll down to Employee.Uses clocks.
  13. Double-click Employee.Uses clocks.

    The Operators list appears.

  14. Double-click is True.

    The Quick Results sub-tab now contains the following clause:
    "Employee.Uses clocks is True"

  15. Click OK.

    A Preparing Data box appears, and then the Daily View window.

  16. Scroll down until you can see some employee Actuals data.

    You have customised the ClockIn column so that it displays:

    Now you need to restore Daily View to the Tutorial layout.

  17. In the Style toolbar, click Go!
  18. In the Drill Down tool bar, click the Centre button Embedded GIF File 0% Template.
