Terminating an employee - HR details

Human Resources

Summary

Each organisation has its own set of termination procedures. This section covers some of the components of PayGlobal Human Resources that you should consider when terminating an employee.

When you terminate an employee, you need to complete any open or incomplete components, such as appraisals, performance plans, training plans, nominations and course records. You also need to record the return of issued items and enter the termination details. When you complete an employee’s termination details, you can also create a recruitment centre for the vacant position.

If the terminated employee has access to the PayGlobal software, you need to remove their User Profile and Security Profile. Their e-mail details should also be removed from any reporting groups.

If you are using Self-Service, you need to remove the employee’s Self-Service Username and Password from their employee record.

Example of HR practice

The following is an example of termination procedures used by one organisation. Your list may be slightly different.

  • Record the return of issued items
  • Check that employee appraisal contains scores and potential details
  • Check performance plan has a completion date.
  • Change the status of any training plans to Closed.
  • Change the nomination status to Not Required.
  • Remove employee from any courses that they are listed on.
  • Delete the learning outcome and course feedback records.
  • Enter termination details and create a recruitment centre record for the position.
