Inductions

Summary

Often new employees undergo an Induction programme. Induction is not learning a role or demonstrating abilities. It is a time to learn the expected standards of performance and behaviour within an organisation.

Several employees are likely to share the same Induction Programme in an organisation. Each new employee does not need a separate Induction Programme. Simply create an Induction Template and reuse it for several Inductions.

Function

The Inductions entity in PayGlobal records:

  • An overall summary of the employee induction programme - dates, responsibilities, and location.
  • Employees on an induction programme.
  • The topics or modules covered in the induction programme.
  • The details of the Induction Programme that an employee has received.
  • Which modules have been completed.

Employee Induction programmes

PayGlobal updates the Induction tab in the employee record with data entered in the Inductions entity.

Saving Induction data

When saving the data in an Induction, PayGlobal asks:

"Do you wish to set up Nomination records based on Module Course Types?"

Select Yes to set up a Nomination record for employees on this Induction. Nomination records indicate that an employee is eligible for particular Courses. PayGlobal creates a Nomination for employees who receive an Induction Programme so that you can identify them easily when you arrange the next Course.

Generate Nominations

The right-click menu also contains a Generate Nominations option which places the employees on this Induction Programme onto a Nomination waiting list for Courses associated with an Induction.
