Checking in preparation for PayGlobal 1.95

Your database must pass the Integrity Checker before you can process pays in PayGlobal 1.95. To allow for the time that it may take to correct errors in your data you should check and correct any errors before you upgrade to PayGlobal 1.95.

You should use the following process to prepare for upgrading to PayGlobal 1.95.

Note: For more information about these upgrade procedures, see the 1.95 Upgrading PayGlobal Manual.

  1. Install the .NET 3.5 Framework. PayGlobal 1.95 and the Integrity Checker require version 3.5 of the .NET Framework.
  2. Restore a backup of your live PayGlobal database into your test environment.
  3. If your test database is running PayGlobal version 1.94 RC14 or earlier, then follow the standard procedure to upgrade to PayGlobal 1.94 RC17.

    Note: You should run the Check Database Integrity command in PayGlobal as part of your regular maintenance. However, if you have not used it recently, then you should run it and correct any data issues before running the Integrity Checker application.

  4. Run the Integrity Checker application and view the audit log.
  5. If any integrity issues are found, then print the audit log.
  6. Correct the integrity issues in your test database.

    Record the changes that you make and keep any scripts that you use so you can apply them to your live database after you have successfully corrected all of the integrity issues in your test database and completed your testing.

  7. Upgrade your test database to PayGlobal 1.95.

  8. When you have completed these procedures in your test database and successfully tested the upgraded test database, you can repeat the process for your live database (using the scripts and changes that you recorded in step 6).
