What is Employee Rostering?

PayGlobal uses the Virtual Roster in Daily View to view Rosters. However rostering details are usually edited at employee level.

Note: Editing an employee's Roster in Daily View overrides a specific timeband for the selected day only.

All employees may use the same Roster, or there may be several different Rosters used by an organisation.

When a Roster period is attached to an employee, that employee is said to be on a Permanent Roster. Permanent Rosters do not change from week to week.

Rosters can be defined at four main levels. If a Roster is defined in more than one place, the order of hierarchy in placing the Roster for the day is as follows:

  1. Open Roster (in Daily View).
  2. Timeband Overrides.
  3. Shift Overrides.
  4. Tours.
