Rostering Terminology

The following table explains the terms used in PayGlobal Rostering:

Term

Description

Requirement

Is a position or shift group required to fill a shift across a site.

Requirement Tour

A cyclic tour of Requirements. This would be used in scenarios where a requirement needs to be filled on a regular basis.

Requirement Tour Requirements

A specific requirement for a specific day of the requirement tour.

Placement Criteria

Filters out employees that are not suitable to fill a requirement.

Split Timeband

The Daily View screen allows you to allocate a shift to separate areas.

Transaction View

Gives you a view on the screen of allowance, description code, hours worked, and costs.

Reason Code

Reason for the requirement. Use this to specify a planned absence such as annual leave or public holiday.

Override Reason

A broken shift. For example, a public holiday not worked or overtime.

Work Area

The physical site where staff are working.

Shift

A shift is position and time based. They contain start and end times.

Break

Used to determine when an unpaid meal break is taken within a shift.

Shift Override

For employees with permanent recurring rosters.

Timeband Override

Used to override an employee's roster for a period of time on one specific day.
