Learning & Development

Human Resources | Learning & Development

Summary

PayGlobal Learning & Development allows you to create personalised training plans that start an employee's development cycle.

You can use training plans to define development actions for individual employees. From the training plan, you can create nominations for individuals to attend courses. A nomination is a record of intent; it is a record in a list of employees waiting to be scheduled for a specific course.

In course management, you create courses and employees are assigned to these events through nominations or on an ad hoc basis. Courses are specific instances of a course type.

Course types are a template or generic record for a particular course. For example, you could have one Course Types record for "First Aid", but many "First Aid" Courses records that are based on the generic "First Aid" Course Types template.

Course Types records are associated with competencies and qualifications. When you close a related Courses record, attendees who successfully completed the learning event are awarded the associated competencies and qualifications.

Performance Management and Learning & Development

The following diagram shows the relationship between Performance Management and Learning & Development. When you generate a training plan from a performance plan, PayGlobal copies across the Employee and Course Type values. These values are used throughout Learning & Development, and when you close a course, PayGlobal copies the Competencies and Qualification Types from the Course Types record to the successful Employees records. You can create a new performance plan for the employee to further develop their capabilities.
